Cop arrested for taking bribe of Rs 10,000

A police officer was today arrested after the vigilance unit of Delhi Police caught him taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.

Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught ASI Ram Kishan red-handed while demanding and accepting illegal gratification from the complainant.

The complainant, a building material supplier in Narela here, had approached the Vigilance Branch of Delhi Police with a complaint that the accused had seized his two vehicles without any fault and was demanding Rs 10,000 from him to get his vehicles released.

Accordingly, a trap was laid when the complainant met the accused at police post Bhorgarh where he demanded and accepted the bribe money of Rs 10,000 from the complainant.
 

"On the signal of the witness, the raiding team apprehended ASI Ram Kishan red-handed and the bribe money was recovered from him," Vigilance Department said adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
