Cop booked for illegal confinement, bribe in Rajouri

The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today booked a Head Constable for illegally confining a villager and extracting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for his release in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Khursheed Ahmed has been booked on the basis of a complaint lodged against him by one Abdul Khaliq of Kalakote, Rajouri for making false cases against him and his relatives, illegally confining him and demanding bribe for his release," said an SVO officer.

"Ahmed illegaly confined Khaliq on two different occassions in 2013 and took nearly Rs 50,000 bribe for their release," he said.

"Ahmed has been booked and a case has been registered against him," he added.
