A head constable was caught red-handed by Lokayukta Police here today while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a complainant.
Acting on the complaint of Purshottam Upadhyaya, Lokayukta Police laid a trap and caught head constable Rajendra Dubey at Padmakar Police Station in the city when he was taking the bribe.
Lokayukta Inspector K K Agrawal said Dubey had allegedly demanded Rs 5,000 from Upadhyaya for settling a case filed against him by his brother over an ancestral property dispute.

As part of the plan, when he was handing over Rs 3,000 to Dubey as first instalment, he was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta Police.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is on.
