An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) with Punjab police was crushed to death by a speeding car when he tried to stop it for checking in the district's Mahilpur town.
50-year-old Nirmal Singh, posted in Mahilpur police station, was on duty late last night at a special check-post set up to prevent anti-social elements to enter the town.
