A Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) was today arrested for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000, a senior Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) official said.
Narendra Munde, attached with Dhanora Police Station, had demanded Rs 20,000 as bribe for not arresting a man in a case which was registered at the police station, the officer said.
The man lodged a complaint with the ACB, following which a trap was laid and one Mustak Qureshi, was apprehended for accepting the bribe on Munde's behalf, he said.
Later Munde was arrested, the officer said, adding a case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered.
