Acting on a tip off, the vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught the ASI red-handed when he accepted a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a person at Manikpur police outpost under Suryagadha police station, ADG, Vigilance, P K Thakur said.
A complain had been lodged with the Bureau by a person alleging that the ASI had demanded graft for the arrest and chargesheeting of some accused persons in a case filed by him.
Mandal was being brought to Patna for interrogation and will be produced before a vigilance court tomorrow, Thakur said.
