Cop injured as bull gores him

A police constable was seriously injured after a bull gored him when he attempted to stop organisers from going ahead with 'jallikattu' (bull taming sport) in view of the ban on it by the Supreme Court.

Police said constable Manikandan had been admitted to a hospital in serious condition and the organisers of the jallikattu in Thennur village were absonding.

The constable attached to the Iluppur station in the district was deputed to stop the organisers from holding the Jallikattu event.

Even as he was advising the organisers to stop the event as there was no permission for the same, one of the bulls released from the entry point near the ground gored him,injuring him seriously.
 

After first aid, he was rushed to a private hospital in Tiruchirappalli for further treatment.

Police registered a case and were searchin for the organisers of the event.
