Home department sources said constable Girish Pal Singh and homeguard Puran Lal, who were on patrol duty, were attacked when they tried to stop some persons, who fled with two rifles.
As police rushed to the spot and launched a manhunt, the rifles were recovered from the jungles, sources said, adding that the constable who suffered injuries in his stomach was rushed to hospital.
