Cop injured in stone-pelting dies in Kashmir

A policeman, who was injured in a stone pelting incident in the city in July, today succumbed at a hospital here, a police spokesman said.

"Constable Waseem Ahmad Bhat was injured in a stone-pelting incident at Duck Park, Foreshore Road in Nigeen area of the city on July 29. He succumbed to injuries at SKIMS hospital today," the spokesman said.

He said a wreath laying ceremony was organised for the martyred cop in District Police Lines Srinagar. A Guard of Honour was presented and floral wreaths were laid on the coffin of the cop.

Among others, Divisional Commissioner Rohit Kansal, Inspector General of Police Kashmir A G Mir, DIG central Kashmir S A Mujtaba and other police officials were present.
