Intending to get pecuniary benefits by registering a false case, a police inspector of Cuttack district has landed himself in trouble.
Former inspector-in-charge of Nemala police station Jyotiranjan Gouda has been placed under suspension after it was revealed that he registered a fake accident case and helped the so-called victims of it to procure a forged injury report in order to get insurance benefits.
Based on an inquiry report submitted by the Central Range IGP, state DGP K B Singh today suspended Gouda for his dubious role and criminal intent.

A release issued by the police headquarters here said one Sanatan Pradhan of Nayagarh had informed in Nemal police station in February this year claiming that a mini truck in which his son Santosh was working as a helper, met with an accident within the limits of the police station.
His son and two other occupants of the vehicle have sustained grievous injuries, the FIR said.
Registering a case, the then IIC Gouda entrusted the case to sub-inspector Jayshree Ojha for investigation.
Suspecting the injury reports prepared by Salepur PHC doctor R K Nayak in the case, Ojha referred the injured persons to SCB Medical College and Hospital for re-examination.
When the Cuttack hospital gave its opinion stating that the patients do not bear any injuries, the role of the police inspector, the doctor, a local advocate Saroj Kumar Sahoo and the vehicle owner Purnananda Sahoo came under the shadow of suspicion and the matter was handed over to the IGP for investigation.
Meanwhile, registering another case of criminal conspiracy, forgery and criminal intent against the doctor, the advocate and the vehicle owner, Salepur SDPO has entrusted the case to Human Rights Protection Cell inspector Arati Mishra to conduct a thorough investigation into it.
