A station house officer and three others have been booked in connection with the alleged forcible marriage of a minor girl inside a police station here, police said today.

Shauqat Ali Khan, the SHO of Miraichi police station, along with Reziya Begum, Salma and Gulzar were booked for the minor's alleged forcible marriage on Sunday, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Mohan Sharma said.

According to the FIR lodged by the minor's father, Reziya had called the girl to her house and took her to Miraichi police station where she was forcibly made to marry Gulzar.

The girl, while coming out of court today, told reporters that she was forced into the marriage by the SHO and the other three and wants to live with her family.

An inquiry by the Circle Police Officer has been initiated into the allegation against the SHO, Sharma said adding, action would be taken after getting the report and statement of the girl in the court.

Medical examination conducted by a government hospital has confirmed that the girl is a minor.

Security has been tightened in the area after twelve people, including a sub-Inspector and a constable, had been injured in a clash between two groups belonging to Gulzar and the minor's father on Monday following the marriage.

All four accused have been taken into custody.
