An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) against whom a local court had issued an arrest warrant for allegely indulging in an obscene act with a minor schoolgirl while probing a case, surrendered before the judge today.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramkishore Shivhare surrendered before Special Judge R P Sharma, after which he was sent to jail, prosecution advocate, Vishal Anand Shrivastava told reporters.

Shivhare was probing a case in which an unidentified man had shot at the minor girl's mother on September 1, 2011.

The ASI was posted in Chandan Nagar police station at that time and while probing the incident involving the 16-year-old girl's mother, he along with a tanker driver friend named Vijay Sharma took the daughter away on the pretext of questioning her on September 3, 2011.

Later, they allegedly indulged in an obscene act with her in the room of an acquaintance, the advocate said.

They also shot a video clip and threatened her that if she revealed the matter to anyone, they would kill her.

After a police complaint, a case under Sections 342, 354 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against them.

Subsequently, they were found guilty in the matter on October 9, 2013. Shivhare had been absconding since then.
