Copper, aluminium rise on increased demand

Prices of copper and aluminium rose by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today due to pick-up in demand from consuming industries.

Traders said pick-up in demand from consuming industries and reports of a firming global trend mainly led to the rise in copper and aluminium prices.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap advanced by Rs 2 to Rs 435 per kg.

Aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap were also enquired higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 168, Rs 169, Rs 171 and Rs 168 per kg, respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
 

Zinc ingot 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,087-1,093, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 435, Chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 106, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 168, Aluminium sheet cutting 169, Aluminium wire scrap 171 and Aluminium utensils scrap 168.
