Copper and brass weaken on lower demand

Copper and brass weakened further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' selling amidst lower demand from industrial users.

While nickel prices recovered owing to fresh demand from alloy industries.

Brass sheet cuttings eased further by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 340 from Tuesday's close at Rs 345.

Copper armature and copper sheet cuttings moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 435 and Rs 431 as against Rs 438 and Rs 434 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper utensils, copper billets and brass utensils scrap edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 449, Rs 442, Rs 412, Rs 477 and Rs 332 as compared to Rs 451, Rs 444, Rs 415, Rs 479 and Rs 334, respectively.
 

However, nickel prices edged up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 850 as against Rs 847.
