Copper, brass gain on good demand

Copper and brass utensils scrap gained at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amid good demand from industrial users.

However, tin and zinc weakened further owing to poor offtake from alloy industries.

Copper scrap heavy increased by Rs 9 per kg to Rs 364 from Thursday's close of Rs 355.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 370 and Rs 398 as compared to yesterday's close of Rs 365 and Rs 393.

Copper armiture and copper sheet cuttings went up by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 351 and Rs 347 as against Rs 347 and Rs 343 earlier.
 

Copper utensils moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 330 from yesterday's close of Rs 327 and brass utensils scrap edged up to Rs 292 from Rs 290.

However, tin prices slid by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,600 as against Rs 1,620 yesterday and zinc softened by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 222 as against Rs 225.
