Copper edges higher on global cues

Copper prices were up by Rs 2 per kg at the local market today on pick up in demand from consuming industries amid a firming global trend.

Traders said besides pick up in demand from consuming industries, a firming global trend mainly kept copper prices higher.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months gained 0.1 per cent to USD 5,636 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap advanced by Rs 2 to Rs 397 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot 114-120, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,078-1,083, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 397, Chadri deshi 285.
 

Lead ingot 106, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 164, Aluminium sheet cutting 165, Aluminium wire scrap 167 and Aluminium utensils scrap 164.
