Copper fell further by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to weakening global trend amid sluggish demand from consuming industries.
Traders said sentiments in copper remained weak after it traded near its lowest close since 2009 in global markets as China's stock market rout continued, fuelling concern that the country's economic slowdown will hit demand for commodities in the world's biggest consumer of metals.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months fell three per cent to USD 4,903 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
