Copper firms up on sustained demand

Copper prices firmed up at the non- ferrous metal market here today on stockists heavy buying amid good demand from industrial users.

While, nickel and brass fell owing to lower demand from alloy industries.

Copper sheet cuttings rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 366 from Wednesday's close of Rs 361.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armature, copper utensils and copper wire bar also edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 390, Rs 384, Rs 370, Rs 347 and Rs 418 as against Rs 388, Rs 382, Rs 368, Rs 345, Rs 416, respectively.
 

However, brass utensils scrap and nickel moved down by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 280 and Rs 625 as compared to yesterday's close of Rs 285 and Rs 630.

Brass sheet cuttings softened to Rs 294 per kg.
