Copper futures dip 0.69% on global cues

Amid weak trend overseas and subdued demand at domestic spot market, copper prices traded lower by 0.69 per cent to Rs 445.50 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April fell by Rs 3.10, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 445.50 per kg in business turnover of 3,680 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in June was trading lower by Rs 2.60, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 450.15 per kg in 109 lots.

Analysts said reducing of bets by participants following a bearish trend overseas and sluggish demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly weighed on copper prices at futures trade.

 

Globally, copper for delivery in three month fell 0.8 per cent to USD 6,893 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
