Copper futures down 0.18 pc in Muhurat trading

Copper futures fell 0.18 per cent to Rs 324.35 per kg in special Muhurat trading as speculators booked profits to mark the beginning of Samvat year 2073.

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) remained closed for the morning session on account of Diwali.

At the MCX, copper for delivery in November month traded lower by 60 paise, or 0.18 per cent, at Rs 324.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 315 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in far-month February 2017 edged down by 40 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 330.15 per kg, with a business turnover of 16 lots.
 

Market participants said speculators cut down their positions to book profits on the first session of the Samvat year 2073.
