Copper prices declined by 0.44 per cent to Rs 327.90 per kg in futures trading today as speculators cut down their bets amid tepid demand from consuming industries at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November month fell by Rs 1.45, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 327.90 per kg in business turnover of 10,585 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February next year weakened by Rs 1.25, or 0.37 per cent to Rs 333.40 per kg in 447 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by participants on the back of sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market mainly influenced copper prices in futures trade.
