Copper prices declined by 0.69 per cent to Rs 459.80 per kg in futures market today as speculators booked profits amid easing demand at spot markets.
Besides, subdued global cues fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in May declined by Rs 3.20, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 459.80 per kg in business turnover of 1,863 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June shed Rs 3.20, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 465.45 per kg in 326 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants, fall in demand from consuming industries in physical market and a weak trend overseas weighed on copper prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three-month fell 0.4 per cent to USD 6,983.00 per metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
