Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices fell by 0.17% to Rs 410.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions at prevailing levels amidst a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November fell 70 paise, or 0.17%, to Rs 410.20 per kg in business turnover of 180 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month February contracts eased by 45 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 416.10 per kg in just one lot.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global cues and low demand from consuming industires at domestic spot markets.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months on the London Metal Exchange traded lower at $6,664.50 a metric tonne. The price closed at $6,669 yesterday.
