Copper futures fell 0.50 per cent to Rs 371.30 per kg today as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to subdued demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August contracts declined by Rs 1.85 or 0.50 per cent to Rs 371.30 per kg in a business turnover of 125 lots.

The metal for delivery in June fell Rs 1.70 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 367.20 per kg in a business volume1 of 1,447 lots.

Analysts said a weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to low demand from consuming industries, put pressure on copper prices in futures trade here.
