Copper prices fell by 0.28 per cent to Rs 392.20 per kg in futures trading today as participants engaged in reducing their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on low demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February declined by Rs 1.10, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 392.20 per kg, in a business turnover of 237 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month April traded lower by Rs 1.05, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 396.70 per kg in one lot.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of subdued demand at domestic spot market, mainly weighed on copper prices at futures trade.
