Copper gains marginally on global cues

Adds 0.05% as traders enlarge positions

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices traded a shade higher by 0.05 per cent to Rs 427.55 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions amid a firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November moved up by 20 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 427.55 per kg in a business turnover of 646 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firming global trend where the metal traded near one-week high before trade data from China, the biggest consumer of industrial metals.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months saw little change at $6,980 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
