Copper futures harden by 0.32% on spot demand

Copper prices inched up by 0.32 per cent to Rs 416.85 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh position amid uptick in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August moved up by Rs 1.35, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 416.85 per kg in business turnover of 2,568 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in November gained Rs 1.15, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 423.85 per kg in 39 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by traders after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market attributed to the rise in copper prices in futures trade.
