Copper prices extended losses for the second straight day by falling another 0.87 per cent to Rs 302.05 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in reducing their positions in line with a weakening global cues.
Besides, sluggish demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market weighed on copper prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November fell Rs 2.65, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 302.05 per kg in a business turnover of 3,812 lots.

Market analysts said besides weak trend in base metals in global markets on concern that demand is sputtering in China, mainly led to decline in copper prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, copper fell 0.8 per cent on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
