Copper futures rise 0.14% on spot demand

Copper futures traded 0.14 per cent higher at Rs 327.90 per kg today as speculators enlarged positions amid firming trend at the domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month February 2017 was trading higher by 45 paise, or 0.14 per cent, at Rs 327.90 per kg, in a business turnover of three lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in November edged up by 35 paise, or 0.11 per cent, at Rs 321.90 per kg in 538 lots.

Market analysts said a better trend in base metals at the domestic spot markets on pick-up in demand from consuming industries, influenced copper futures.
