Supported by rising demand at the spot markets, copper prices rose 0.17 per cent to Rs 329 per kg in futures trade today as participants raised their bets.
However, a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME), capped the gains.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February next year rose by 55 paise, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 329 per kg, in a business turnover of five lots.

The metal for delivery in November also was up by 50 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 322.70 per kg, in a business volume of 402 lots.
Marketmen said the rise in copper prices at futures market was mostly attributed to increased industrial demand at the spot markets but weakness in base metals overseas, restricted the gains.
