Amid pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, copper prices edged higher by 0.77 per cent to Rs 394.60 per kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month April was trading higher by Rs 3, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 394.60 per kg, in a business turnover of 125 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 2.40, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 390.15 per kg in 1,597 lots.
