Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices moved up by 1.23 per cent to Rs 443.15 per kg in futures trade today on speculative buying after firm trend at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month April rose by Rs 5.40, or 1.23 per cent to Rs 443.15 per kg in business turnover of 140 lots.

The metal for delivery in February was trading higher by Rs 5, or 1.16 per cent to Rs 437.90 per kg in 4,434 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by participants following pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, mainly led to rise in copper prices at futures trade.
