Copper futures fell 0.22 per cent to Rs 390.80 per kg today as speculators trimmed positions to book profits.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February shed 85 paise, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 390.80 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,463 lots.

The metal for delivery in far-month April fell 75 paise, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 394 per kg, in a business volume of six lots.

Analysts said profit-booking by participants at prevailing levels, led to the decline in copper prices at futures trade.
