Copper prices moved down by 0.19 per cent to Rs 429.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut down bets amid subdued demand at spot markets.

Copper for delivery in November shed 80 paise, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 429.10 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,549 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in February next year traded lower by 60 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 433.50 per kg in 13 lots.

Analysts said copper prices fell in line with a weak trend in industrial metals following sluggish demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets, but a firming trend overseas, restricted the losses.

Globally, copper for delivery in three months on the London Metal Exchange rose USD 10.50 to USD 6,503.50 a tonne in yesterday's trade.
