Copper prices fell by 0.36 per cent to Rs 330.70 a kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in reducing positions, tracking a weak trend at the domestic spot markets on subdued demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February next year declined by Rs 1.20 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 330.70 per kg in a business turnover of 15 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 1.15 or 0.35 per cent to Rs 324.85 per kg in 704 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of a weak trend at the domestic spot markets as some industrial metals fell due to weak demand, mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade.
