Copper moved down by 0.48 per cent to Rs 448.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators booked profits amid easing demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April fell by Rs 2.15, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 448.60 per kg in business turnover of 1,542 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in June shed Rs 1.90, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 452.90 per kg in 29 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to profit booking by participants, driven by subdued demand from consuming industries in the physical markets.
