Copper prices moved down by 1.09 per cent to Rs 368.65 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing their positions, driven by a weak trend in base metals overseas.
Besides, low demand from consuming industries in the spot market weighed on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February next year fell by Rs 4.05 or 1.07 per cent to Rs 374.05 per kg in business turnover of 153 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 4.05 or 1.09 per cent to Rs 368.65 per kg in 2,429 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper prices at futures trade to a weak trend in global market as dollar strengthened, eroding demand for base metals and other commodities and muted demand at the domestic spot markets.
