Copper up 0.3% on global cues

Metal for delivery in three months rose 0.7%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices moved up by 0.30% to Rs 416.25 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on firm global cues.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month November traded higher by Rs 1.25, or 0.30%, to Rs 416.25 per kg in a turnover of 797 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firm global trend after a gauge of manufacturing for China, the biggest consumer of industrial metals, beat estimates.

Globally, copper for delivery in three months rose 0.70% to $6,764.75 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
