Copper futures up 0.49% on rising demand

Supported by rising demand from consuming industries at the domestic market, copper prices were up 0.49 per cent at Rs 452 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February was trading 65 paise, or 0.49 per cent, higher at Rs 456.60 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,133 lots.

The metal for delivery in April edged higher by Rs 2.15, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 456.60 per kg, in a business volume of 11 lots.

Analysts said increased demand from consuming industries in the physical market influenced prices.
