Copper gains on rising demand

Copper prices firmed up further at the non-ferrous metal market following sustained stockists buying amidst rising demand from industrial users.

Elsewhere, nickel, tin, lead and zinc recovered on renewed demand from alloy industries.

Nickel climbed by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 870 from Monday's close at Rs 850 and tin also regained by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,650 as against Rs 1,640 yesterday.

Copper utensils and copper sheet cuttings rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 365 and Rs 375 as against Rs 360 and Rs 370 previously.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armature, copper wire bar and zinc moved up by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 399, Rs 392, Rs 378, Rs 427 and Rs 227 as compared to Rs 395, Rs 388, Rs 374, Rs 423 and Rs 223, respectively.
 

Lead edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 151 as compared to Rs 149 yesterday.
