Copper and lead traded lower by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today in tandem with a weak global trend.
Traders said sentiments turned bearish after copper fell in global markets amid concerns that demand may decline in China and also as a Federal Reserve official signalled that interest rates in US could rise by March.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months dropped 0.2 per cent to USD 6,938 per tonne in the London Metal Exchange.
