Copper, lead decline Rs 2 per kg on global cues

Copper and lead traded lower by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today in tandem with a weak global trend.

Traders said sentiments turned bearish after copper fell in global markets amid concerns that demand may decline in China and also as a Federal Reserve official signalled that interest rates in US could rise by March.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months dropped 0.2 per cent to USD 6,938 per tonne in the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap, lead ingot and lead imported were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 445, Rs 117 and Rs 115 per kg, respectively.
 

Following are today's metal rates (in Rupees per kg):

Zinc ingot 111-117, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,094-1,100, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 445, Chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 117, Lead imported 115, Aluminium ingots 155, Aluminium sheet cutting 156, Aluminium wire scrap 158 and Aluminium utensils scrap 155.
