Copper, lead gains in lacklustre trade

Meanwhile, copper scrap heavy and brass sheet cutting softened on reduced demand from consumer industries.

The industrial metal were trading higher at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after a one-day holiday on optimism that Spain would use public funds to bolster its struggling banks.

Copper utensils scrap and lead moved up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 445 and Rs 125 from overnight close of Rs 443 and Rs 123.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and copper sheet cutting all improved by a rupee per kg each to Rs 485, Rs 513 and Rs 466 respectively.

However, copper scrap heavy and brass sheet cutting both inched down by a rupee per kg to Rs 475 and Rs 327.
