Copper, nickel prices ease on reduced offtake, global cues

Prices of copper and nickel eased by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today due to reduced demand from consuming industries.

Traders said fall in demand from consuming industries and weak global cues mainly led to the decline in copper and nickel prices.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months slipped 0.3 per cent to USD 5,833 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) fell by Rs 2 each to Rs 408 and Rs 1,053-1,058 per kg, respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg)
 

Zinc ingot Rs 120-126, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 1,053-1,058, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 408, Chadri deshi Rs 285.

Lead ingot- Rs 101, Lead imported- Rs 102, Aluminium ingots- Rs 160, Aluminium sheet cutting- Rs 161, Aluminium wire scrap- Rs 163 and Aluminium utensils scrap- Rs 160.
