Copper, nickel remain weak on reduced offtake

Prices of copper and nickel fell further by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today largely due to reduced offtake by consuming industries.

Traders said fall in industrial demand and a weakening global trend in base metals mainly kept pressure on copper and nickel prices.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) shed another Rs 2 each to Rs 431 and Rs 1,088-1,094 per kg, respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,088-1,094, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 431, Chadri deshi 285.
 

Lead ingot 107, Lead imported 105, Aluminium ingots 166, Aluminium sheet cutting 167, Aluminium wire scrap 169 and Aluminium utensils scrap 166.
