Copper, nickel rise on stockists buying, global cues

Prices of copper and nickel moved up by Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on emergence of stockists buying amid firm trend overseas.

Traders said stockists buying along with firm trend overseas where base metal rose as US President Donald Trump reiterated plans to spend big on infrastructure amid weakness in the dollar.

Globally, copper for delivery in three months climbed 0.5 per cent to USD 7,160 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 5 each to Rs 395 and Rs 750-755 per kg respectively.
 

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 120-126, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 750-755, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 395, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 121, lead imported Rs 127, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
