Copper prices moved up by 0.16% to Rs 414.15 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions in tandem with a firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June traded higher by 65 paise, or 0.16%, to Rs 414.15 per kg in a business turnover of 12,581 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in August edged up by 50 paise, or 0.12%, to Rs 417.70 per kg in 86 lots.
