Copper prices fell by 0.78 per cent to Rs 463.50 per kg in futures trade today as participants trimmed positions amid weak global cues and subdued domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month June fell by Rs 3.65, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 463.50 per kg, in a business turnover of 391 lots.
The metal for delivery in April also fell by Rs 3.25, or 0.71 per cent, to trade at Rs 457.15 per kg in a turnover of 1,187 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) and subdued demand at the physical markets.
