Copper slips on weak global cues, low demand

Copper prices drifted 0.28 per cent lower to Rs 452.55 per kg in futures trade on Wednesday as speculators reduced exposure, tracking a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for September delivery fell Rs 1.25, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 452.55 per kg in a business turnover of 8,085 lots.

Similarly, the metal for October delivery traded lower by Rs 1.50, or 0.33 per cent, at Rs 454.80 per kg in 123 lots.

Globally, the industrial metal was trading 0.19 per cent lower at USD 262.30 on COMEX.
