Copper and zinc prices dropped at the non-ferrous metal market here today on heavy stockists selling amidst reduced demand from industrial users.
On the global front, London copper was steady in early trade, braced for further dollar strength ahead of the outcome of a Federal Reserve meeting expected to yield clues on the timing of a US interest rate hike, while tepid consumer demand in China offered some support.

Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper wire bar and brass utensils scrap all declined by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 434, Rs 423, Rs 454, and Rs 312 from Rs 438, Rs 427, Rs 458 and Rs 316, respectively.
Brass sheet cutting fell by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 322 as against Rs 325 yesterday.
Copper sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 421 from Rs 423.
However, lead inched-up by a Re per kg to Rs 133.
