Copra drops on sluggish demand, good supply

However, black pepper, ginger and ginger bleached ruled steady in the absence of any market moving factors.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai fell by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,800 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 6,900 and Copra edible Mumbai decline by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 4,175 from Rs 4,200 previously.

Copra office Alapuzha and Copra office Kozhikode both slipped by Rs 25 per quintal each to Rs 4,175 and Rs 4,075 as against Rs 4,200 and Rs 4,100 last weekend.

The following are today's closing rates in rupees with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 430/455 (430/455), ginger bleached (per kg) 120 (120), ginger unbleached (per kg) 130 (130), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 4,175 (4,200), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 4,075 (4,100), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 6,800 (6,900) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 4900 (4,950).
